We are a working flower farm rather than a retail florist shop….

When you buy flowers from FLORA, you are buying fresh flowers direct from your local grower. Our focus is on getting our flowers to our customers as fresh as possible, so unlike a retail florist shop, we don’t hold a lot of stock from day to day. And because we spend most of our daylight hours out in the fields, we often don’t see inquiries until the evening.  Pre-ordering is the best way to avoid disappointment.

Here’s where you can buy FLORA Flowers

  • Direct, Warkworth

You can order flowers directly from us during our peak season (approx Sept-April). However, please remember that we are a working flower farm, so same-day orders are not usually possible. The minimum spend for direct orders is $35, with payment by online banking or cash on pick up. Direct orders will usually be left at my front door for you to pick up (Warkworth). Check out the inquiry form and FAQ’s further down this page.

  • Charlies Gelato Garden, Matakana

We keep this iconic local gelato shop stocked with fresh and dried flowers throughout the year, although flowers are less plentiful from Mid May through Mid August. I try to include single variety bunches, as well as mixed posies & bunches. I often put an update on my Facebook page when I am dropping off bunches as it differs through the season. Charlies is a great place to take the kids or grandkids for a treat, and while you’re there, grab yourself a flowery treat too!

  • Roadside Stall Point Wells

My goal is to sell my flowers as locally as possible, so I have set up the Joy Dispensary Roadside Stall at Point Wells (where I grow about 75% of my flowers). I stock the stall with fresh flower bunches every harvest day (usually Mon/Weds/Fri).

  • Online Seasonal Specials

We sell bunches of single varieties of flowers when they are at the peak of their season. This is usually tulips late Aug - mid Sept, dahlias Jan-March, and sunflowers Nov-April. Online ordering and payment is available for these bunches on our ‘buy flowers’ page.

Get in touch to order flowers directly

This is an inquiry rather than an actual order. Your order is not confirmed until you have heard back from me. Please tell me as much info as possible, including when you would like your flowers, what size and type of bunch you are wanting, and any specific colour requests (eg. bright or pastel). Please note that flowers are not plentiful from May-August, so during these months options are limited, and several days notice is required.

Current prices (as at April 2024)

Mixed Posie in Jar (shorter stems): $35 (mid August - late April)

Mixed Bunch in Jar (Farmers Choice): 60 (Sept-April)

Bespoke Bunch: not currently available

Frequently Asked Questions…

Do you have a shop?

No sorry - we are a working flower farm, and I work out of my home. Please read this ‘Where to Buy’ page about your purchasing options.

Can I order and pay via your website?

Currently only our seasonal specials and Mother’s Day flowers can be ordered and paid for online.

How do I pay?

Payment is by online banking (I will email you an invoice), or cash on pickup.

Can I pick up my flowers?

Yes, by appointment from my base in Warkworth, or occasionally from my farm in Point Wells if the timing is right.

Can I have a tour of your farm when I pick up my flowers?

Unfortunately not, as we are a working farm with multiple hazards. I will also be head down working hard to get my tasks finished, so will probably just give you a friendly wave.

Do you Deliver?

Delivery is sometimes possible, but on a case-by-case basis. We currently deliver our own flowers, and there is simply not time to deliver on our busy harvest days. To keep our business truly local, we only deliver to the following Urban areas. Warkworth, Matakana, Point Wells, Omaha, Snells Beach, Algies Bay.

Can I select what types of flowers will be in my bunch?

Only if you are ordering a single-variety bunch. Mixed bunches are the best of what we are currently harvesting on the farm - (keep an eye on my facebook page to get an idea of what is currently available). You can usually suggest a colour preference (or colour dislike!), and we will do our best to create accordingly.

Which days do you operate?

This varies with the season, but at the peak of the season, you can usually order flowers for Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday. But this can change with public holiday weekends, personal holidays, sick days etc…so it pays to double check!
